Final Assessment
1 Unit of Assessment is allocated to every 20-credits of courses. Language Paper 1 counts as a 40-credit course. Language paper 2 and the oral are 20 credits each.
* No previous knowledge of Portuguese is necessary: a pass in a modern foreign language or a classical language at SCE Higher grade or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency is normally required
†Entry into Honours normally requires (i) passes in all six subjects taken in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 55% or above in the second year of the relevant Modern European Language.
# Entry to year 3 normally requires a pass at 55% or above at the first attempt in English Literature 2 or Scottish Literature 2,or American Literature 2.
