        Ecological Management (U01817)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 10 ? Acronym : GEO-4-ECOMAN To gain an understanding of the types of ecological knowledge and analytical techniques required for the scientific management of plant and animal populations in the wild. By exploring a series of case studies, this course includes the management of plant communities and rare plants, and the mitigation of perceived conflicts between man and wildlife in the context of conservation and the sustainable management of natural resources.       Students will understand the need for sound scientific information on the natural history and population and community dynamics of target species before problems of conservation and the management of problem species can be properly addressed at an appropriate level of management intervention
