Summary | This course prepares students for their dissertation project. In the course students will prepare a dissertation proposal in preparation for their dissertation. The proposal forms the assessed component for this course and defines the research plan for the dissertation. |
Course description |
In this course students will learn how to plan a research project and write a research proposal. The course includes taught elements that outline these processes as well as tutorials designed to connect between taught and research elements of the programme. The second part of the course allows time for students to work together with their dissertation supervisor to build their research plan.

Students will present (part of) a research paper and critically evaluate the results. The presentation will be assessed (10%)
Report on a research topic that relates to the tutorials (40%)

Feedback |
The class sessions are discussions sessions and the tutorials interactive, feedback will happen in those sessions. Supervisors will provide feedback during discussions and during the one read-through of the draft research proposal that they are allowed. |
