Course description |
This course is designed to be taken as an exit award from an PhD or MPhil programme, to fulfil the requirements of the Postgraduate Assessment Regulations for Research Degrees. It is only open to those students for whom this has been the agreed outcome.
Students will work on their self-led research project throughout their entire studies; the only assessment is the dissertation. They will be supported by their supervisors throughout the study programme with meetings scheduled by mutual agreement. Students must maintain contact with their supervisor as required and at least twice in every three month period.

Students will be given verbal and written feedback throughout their MScR supervision at points agreed with the supervisors.
After examination, the student will receive written feedback from the internal and external examiners through the examination forms.

- Plan and present original independent research of a chosen topic.
- Analyse and engage with a wide range of research materials to support the original contribution to knowledge in the dissertation.
