| Summary | This course will be taken in years 3 or 4, and will provide students with the experience of writing, presenting and defending two specialist level 12 clinical case reports. |
| Course description |
In this course students will write fully documented case reports for two cases that they have managed primarily and that demonstrate complex and/or multi-disciplinary management at an advanced specialist level. The cases must be critically discussed in light of up to date published evidence.
In addition to the written reports students will be required to present the cases in a structured viva voce, providing students with experience of scientific presentation and defending their work, as well as experience of scientific writing.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Ability to analyse and manage complex advanced SCQF level 12 problems within their specialty, using evidence based best practice.
- Awareness of their professional responsibilities and the ability to work within their clinical competence.
- The ability to critique the relative benefits of different approaches to case management appropriate to the specialty.
- Experience of working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Specialist SCQF level 12 scientific writing ability and presentation skills.
