Summary	The dissertation course is designed to further develop the student¿s scientific research skills and ability to utilise scientific theory. This course will consist of three elements, a planning element, a dissertation thesis, and an oral presentation
Course description	The dissertation project is designed to further develop the student¿s understanding of the processes and planning involved in undertaking research and to develop their scientific written communication skills. The presentation element allows for the oral communication of their findings. Students can choose to carry out a modelling project, a literature review project, or an experimental/field project. Depending on the format this can include: literature review, experimental design (where possible), data collection, statistical analysis and interpretation; case studies and interpretation. This will be presented in the format of a peer review paper (formatted for a scientific journal) with the potential to be published in the appropriate field.
