Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- To be able to use appropriate terminology correctly
- To be able to describe common mechanisms of drug action and any additional and side effects of common drugs and to be able to discuss interactions of anaesthetic and analgesic drugs
- To be able to describe the basic physiology of pain
- To develop reasons for drug selection dependent on the clinical situation
- To be able to describe how physiological changes related to age and other non-disease related animal differences affect anaesthesia
