This course introduces students to a range of topics in normative ethics. These may include theories of the good, the relationship between what is right and what is good, utilitarian ethics, Kantian ethics, virtue ethics, and moral responsibility.

- discuss a number of topics in normative ethics.
- engage critically in contemporary debates in normative ethics.
- formulate questions and positions of relevance in normative ethics and demonstrate these skills in writing a short critical paper on a current theme in normative ethics.
