Summary | Preparation for the MSc Project is an important component of MSc Programmes. This course will focus on the development of a project outline, usually provided by the supervisor, into a full project proposal with evaluation of datasets, hypotheses and power calculations as appropriate. |
Course description |
This course will introduce students to the subject of their main MSc project. It will be assessed by a presentation and a written report that will be modelled on the scientific component of a grant proposal. Students will be expected to meet with their supervisors during the semester. Supervisors will arrange for students to have access to the data needed for their project work and to introduce them to the relevant methodologies. Students will be expected to perform a feasibility assessment together with power calculations, if appropriate.
