Course description |
The course focuses on understanding and evaluating existing research, principles of research design and hypothesis testing, and effective communication of research findings. Students will work through a representative research articles in different areas of linguistics in a supported way. Together we will consider how research goals are indicated, methods are outlined, data is presented, and results interpreted. There will be additional sessions on statistical literacy, designing a research question, data collection, applying for ethical approval, timeline of the dissertation and writing up.
