SummaryThis course aspects of Immunological techniques, experimental design, analysis and interpretation of results as well as tutorials and will help prepare students for the Immunology Research Project in Semester 2.
Course description This course covers central aspects of experimental design, analysis and interpretation of results. The course will discuss commonly used immunological techniques such as ELISA, in vivo adoptive transfer, flow cytometry and cell sorting (FACS), as well as experimental design, statistics and bioinformatics. This will be complimented by tutorials based around the reading, analysis and discussion of primary scientific papers, The tutorials will provide preparation for the open book paper analysis exam (January, Semester 2) and will support all our core modules and optional electives, for which reading and analysis of primary literature is an essential aspect. The experimental design and analysis sections will help prepare students for their assessed 11 week Research Project in Semester 2.

Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: Immunology 3 (BILG09007)
Co-requisites Students MUST also take: Immunobiology (IMMU10001) AND Molecular Immunology (IMMU10003)
