Course description |
Good parenting is regarded as "fundamental for the development of a child's mental health and well-being" (The Mental Health of Young People: A Framework for Promotion, Prevention and Care, Scottish Executive, 2005). The field of work with parents is growing, indicative of the increased importance parenting has achieved, not only on the national, but international health agendas. The course will cover:

- Application of relevant theories into clinical practice
- Understanding the roles of children and parents in the family context
- Presenting problems for which parenting work is commonly used
