Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge & understanding of their chosen research field including a critique of best practice in the subject area.
- Demonstrate required research-specific practical skills and techniques resulting in original research outputs, including a foundation in research design and management; written, numerical, and analytical skills; production of scientific reports.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in a research project context including critical analysis and management of data, judging the relationship between theory and methodology, and assessment of the appropriate techniques and/or data analysis to address the research question.
- Demonstrate the development of transferable skills including written, visual and oral dissemination of research findings, teamwork, project management, and organisational skills.
