On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Show a familiarity with the interests and concerns of modern biblical scholarship.
  2. Show a broad appreciation for interpretative issues from Jewish and Christian canonical writings.
  3. Show a detailed understanding of selected issues in biblical interpretation.
  4. Relate varieties of relevant evidence (biblical, comparative) to given problems in biblical interpretation.
  5. Offer critical assessments of major contributions in biblical studies.
