| Summary | A 3000 word literature review covering material directly related to the subject of the research project. The aims of the project preview dissertation are to review the background relevant to the question being addressed in the research project and to explain why this question(s) is important. |
| Course description |
After the initial tutorial sessions and apart from guidance from the project supervisor the student works on their own to produce the dissertation.
The course is student-driven following initial guidance from a tutor and then support from project supervisor.
As a mechanism to obtain background information and an understanding of the research project students carry out a literature review of a topic related to the project. Using this information students write a dissertation that covers an introduction to the area of research, methodologies and explains the significance of the hypothesis being tested.
