| Course description |
This course introduces students to cutting-edge research in the history of philosophy. Students will (i) attend meetings of the History of Philosophy Research Seminar (at which visiting speakers present their research), (ii) participate in tutorials, and (iii) develop a research paper under the supervision of one of the members of Edinburgh's History of Philosophy Research Cluster.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- discuss the latest cutting edge research in history of philosophy (as presented by History of Philosophy Research Group speakers)
- engage critically in contemporary debates in history of philosophy
- formulate questions and positions of relevance in history of philosophy and write a short critical paper on a current theme in history of philosophy

Reading List
Readings will include new or in-progress papers by HPRG speakers, as well as relevant background papers, to be determined by the speaker and announced before each tutorial.
