| Summary | All healthcare professionals are now expected to have a sophisticated understanding of how research methods and research findings can be exploited in the delivery, development and evaluation of services for the benefit of patients and clients. The organisational culture has been argued to be the most important factor in determining the level of integration of research in the work place. This course sets out to enable students to examine the application and use of research in the work setting and the inherent issues.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability as a reflective professional to communicate and justify their formulation of their work based aim and objectives and detail these in a learning contract.
- Critically reflect on the skills and knowledge required to conduct research in health/nursing
- Critical appraisal of the application of theory and the evidence base in an appropriate setting
