Summary | A course for complete beginners with no previous knowledge of Russian, designed to give beginners a basic, working knowledge of spoken and written Russian.
1. Auditing (Class Only) is not allowed. All students must take all elements of assessment, including the examination.
2. The course has two classes, which run twice a week. You must be able to attend both.
3. Students with previous knowledge of the language are not permitted and may be asked to withdraw from the course.
This course runs both in semester 1.
On successful completion of the course students will be eligible to take Foundation Russian Language 2 (ELCR7003) (20 credits), which follows on from Foundation Russian Language 1. |

Learning Outcomes
Basic knowledge of Russian, development of grammar and oral skills and ability to use them in a wide variety of situations. In addition, the course aims to develop confidence in language learning, understanding and responding to speakers of other languages in appropriate situations.
