Year 1 Academic year: 2017/18, Starting in: September

Notes:
A candidate who, at the commencement of his/her studies in the School of Law, already holds a degree from the University of Edinburgh or an institution of comparable standing, may be credited with 120 credits worth of courses (80 credits at level 10 and 40 credits at level 8) and will be exempted from attendance for a period not exceeding one academic year.

Before selecting your outside courses, please ensure you have met your Personal Tutor.

All compulsory courses are required for the award of the LLB Ordinary on this programme. In addition all compulsory courses are required for progression towards legal practice in Scotland. Moreover, the Law Society of Scotland requires 240 credits in law subjects for a qualifying degree. This means that all courses taken on this Graduate LLB must be law courses from the options below.

Level 8 courses in Schedules A to Q, T and W

Notes:
If you wish to take a law course 'Introduction to Criminology', 'Introduction to Criminal Justice', 'Civil Law Ordinary', 'International Law (semester one)' and 'Employment Law' will be available.

Year 2 Academic year: 2017/18, Starting in: August

Notes:
All compulsory courses with the exception of Jurisprudence LAWS08129 are required for progression towards legal practice in Scotland. However, Jurisprudence LAWS08129 is required for the award of the LLB on this programme.

Students not wishing to progress towards legal practice may substitute other courses at level 8 for some or all of those courses not required for the award of LLB on this programme (Business Entities, Commercial Law Ordinary, Succession and Trusts Ordinary, or any course from schedules A to Q, T and W)).
