SummaryThe dissertation is an extended piece of scholarship in which a student is expected to produce a piece of independent research in the field of health inequalities and public policy with guidance from their supervisor. It should deploy a range of secondary (and in some cases primary) sources as well as appropriate data-analytic and bibliographic skills. The format of the dissertation can vary but will take one of the following forms:

2) detailed literature review to address a relevant research question
3) research project addressing a relevant research question through either small scale collection of original data or secondary analysis of existing data
