Summary	The class will cover all four skills including (1) academic and practical Japanese writing, (2) advanced Japanese language skills, and (3) research and oral/written presentation skills in Japanese, but will focus on more academic types of activities than Japanese 4 Oral. Reading and writing skills including grammar, kanji and vocabulary will be assessed in this course.
Course description	This course is a continuation of Japanese Language 1 and 2 and the year abroad study in Japan. The aim of this course is to further develop and consolidate advanced level structures and skills in reading and writing in Japanese. Students will be lead to the level of Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2/N1 or Common European Framework of Reference for Languages level B2/C1. The course will also help students to become effective communicators in żreal lifeż situations by encouraging them to develop the skills necessary to judge cultural/linguistic appropriateness in a given situation. All students will be given formative feedback exercises that will be helpful for the assessment of this course and for general academic development.
