SummarySemester 2 Course aligned with Design: Individual Portfolio specifically for EMILA students.

Students will write a refined and critical response to their own body of work identifying strands of thematic content and disciplinary priorities to be carried into early career practice. (4000-5000 words).
Course description The course will allow students to pursue specific theoretical and/or organisational issues related to the project site and project brief. The course seeks to establish connections between reflection, practice and planning that support advanced learning beyond the programme, calling for the student to present an autonomous disciplinary position. The student will complete a critical review that creatively contextualises the student's own body of practice led investigations.

(4000-5000 words). Students will be assessed on each learning outcome, and each learning outcome will be equally weighted.
Feedback The Course organiser will ask for a ¿plan of work¿ that sets out how learning outcomes are to be addressed. Students will receive a written response to this submission at least 4 weeks before the submission date.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Reflect: Present a cumulative, retrospective documentation of work with an evident sense of critical reflection.
  2. Progress: Interrelate the output to the final body of design work demonstrating levels of refinement between project led work and personal critical reflection.
  3. Plan: identify related challenges within the profession and suggest how these might be negotiated from a personal viewpoint or with a signature approach to the project site
