SummaryThis course will provide students with knowledge of how anaesthesia may be managed in typical canine and feline cases. Species specific situations will be discussed.
Course description Knowledge and understanding of species specific risks and problems associated with anaesthesia in cats and dogs;
Knowledge and understanding of current anaesthetic and analgesic practice in cats and dogs

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. To be able to identify risk factors specific to the dog and cat relevant for anaesthesia and analgesia
  2. To be able to discuss species specific management
  3. To select appropriate equipment and drugs for anaesthesia of dogs and cats
  4. To construct suitable anaesthetic and analgesic plans for cats and dogs in typical scenarios
