Summary | Generic skills and knowledge are necessary in all aspects of criminal justice social work. However specialist knowledge and skills are required in practice with different client groups, practice in a range of settings and the management of these combinations. This course will allow practitioners and managers to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of a specialist field of practice. The expectation will be that this relates to their actual area of practice or management and will therefore need prior approval from the programme director. |

A plan of independent study will be developed covering 6 days with the student and their tutor. The exception will be a Good Practice in Social Work Management course delivered over 4 workshop days with 2 days of online learning. |
