Summary	The Practice Study is designed to allow students to demonstrate their critical thinking skills through analysis and evaluation of a practice situation. Students are expected to consider their achievements in the practice situation and reflect on the impact of social work involvement on service user/carer- practitioner relations. It is expected that students will draw on the experience of all aspects of the taught and experiential components of the course in applying their learning to the chosen practice situation. The focus on the student's critical reflection on their own practice is the element which distinguishes the Practice Study from other assignments. Students will be supported in their work on the Practice Study by two workshops led by academic staff, tutorial discussion and by their use of the regular supervision sessions with their practice teacher.
