"This course builds on Sociology 1a and 1b by examining some of the key processes underlying the formation and transformation of late modern societies. We look at how contemporary societies are organised and at social divisions within them,including topics such as nationalism,
environment and risk. We develop a sociological perspective on these topics by considering the connection between contemporary public issues and matters of personal and social identity." |
