SummaryThis is a for-credit course offered by the Office of Lifelong Learning (OLL); only students registered with OLL should be enrolled.

This course will examine some of the finest literary writing on the natural world from an environmental perspective. The course ranges from the horticultural religion of Andrew Marvell, through early environmental anxieties in Wordsworth and Coleridge and revolutionary re-appraisals of man¿s place in the nature order from Darwin and Thoreau, to the magnificent ecological writing of Steinbeck and Atwood.
