Summary	THIS IS A FOR-CREDIT ONLY COURSE OFFERED BY THE OFFICE OF LIFELONG LEARNING (OLL); ONLY STUDENTS REGISTERED WITH OLL SHOULD BE ENROLLED Students will learn basic knit stitches on a single bed domestic knitting machine then progress to more complex stitches such as cable, fairisle, tuck and slip. These skills will allow students to develop a body of knitted fabrics based on their own development work and students will learn how to think about these as fashion garments.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to: RESEARCH (33.3%) to research textures which can be developed into knitted fabrics suitable for fashion. PRACTICE (33.3%) to develop knitted fabrics through a combination of stitch, yarn and colour. PRESENTATION (33.3%) produce a knit technical notebook with samples, a development sketchbook containing research, development of ideas through sketch and knitted samples.
