In this course students will be encouraged to develop a visual language which encompasses a variety of materials in both two and three dimensions. Through the exploration of creative themes through observational drawing and experimentation with mark making and materials, students will create studies and images, which aspire to the development of a distinctive personal visual language. Students will be challenged on the boundaries between 2 and 3 dimensions to create a series of related and resolved artworks. The emphasis will be on individuality and innovation. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- RESEARCH
use a visual sketchbook/journal to develop their own themes and subjects to research and develop for mixed media artworks which demonstrate a contextual awareness.
- PRACTICE
work confidently with a range of mixed media techniques and materials to create mixed media works which make connections between two and three dimensions
- PRESENT
select, edit and present a range of resolved and related art works by combining various media.
