SummaryThe aims and objectives of the course are to impart to students an understanding of the ways in which the interests driving competition law and the regulation of innovation interact ¿ and often conflict. The purpose of this course is to understand these tensions and to evaluate a legal framework capable of enabling both regulatory spheres to co-exist. The course will use a number of case-studies in order to understand contemporary issues in competition law within innovative markets. Several seminars will also be co-taught by a Professor with expertise in applied economics and a range of outside expert speakers (e.g. high-level legal practitioners; government officials; industry advisers) will participate in the course.
