SummaryGlobalisation involves challenges to key features of the traditional public health disciplinary base, population focus and policy orientation. These challenges must be understood by practitioners because they shape the way in which public health questions are formulated and the social relevance of public health responses. The course will provide an introduction to global challenges to key public health concepts such as health, health equity and models of epidemiology, and to the public health powers and responsibilities of governments.
