Summary | The course is a core subject-specific preparation for students who wish to carry out research on the Middle East. It will explore some of the tensions between area studies and the disciplines and introduce key paradigms and approaches to the study of the region, with the aim of helping students develop their own research frameworks. Sessions will include presentations from other academic staff as well as student-led discussions on pre-assigned readings.
