Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course the candidate should understand:
* Parasite transmission dynamics between vectors and hosts
* Transmission dynamics as a basis for control strategies
* Current and novel approaches to vector control
* Effect of climate change on disease vectors and distribution
* Socioeconomic considerations in the control of vector-borne diseases

Selected examples will be drawn globally to illustrate fundamental mechanisms of aetiology and epidemiology. Emphasis will be placed on Human African Trypanosomiasis, malaria, leishmaniasis and Lyme disease.
