| Summary | Regardless of the professional domain in which students may ultimately operate, certain key transferable skills are critical for effective performance. Students will be encouraged to search for information regarding the ethics and professional standards necessary in their field and to consider approaches to professional practice. The course will examine approaches to communicate information effectively in a variety of professional settings (e.g., written, meetings and formal presentations). Students will also be required to reflect on their own intended professional destination, to analyse the skills and competencies required to operate successfully, and to plan their own continuing professional development. |
| Course description |
This teaching and learning is research-led. Members of academic staff the Institute for Sport, Physical Education and Health Science (ISPEHS) who contribute to this course are all members of one or more of the following research groups hosted by ISPEHS: (1) Physical Activity for Health Research Centre (PAHRC), (2) Edinburgh Sports Research, (3) Human Performance and Aquatics and (4) Physical Education Research Forum (PERF).
