SummaryCourse members will, by the end of the module: 1) Be critically aware of theoretical principals, processes and conditions underpinning skills within education. 2) Analyse critically consultative and collaborative approaches and change in education. 3) Apply this analysis through practising and reviewing a range of skills that are intrinsic and humanistic interpersonal relations in schools 4) Develop, implement and evaluate strategies for working in partnership with students, colleagues, parents and other professionals as part of their professional role. 5) Use research and literature critically in linking practice and theory.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module participants should be able to:

1. Be critically aware of the theoretical principles, processes and conditions underpinning interpersonal skills, including counselling skills, within education and demonstrate these in practice
2. Analyse critically consultative and collaborative approaches and the process of change in education and play a constructive role within them, leading as and when appropriate
3. Apply this analysis through practising and reviewing a range of skills that are intrinsic to humanistic interpersonal relationships, in an educational context
4. Develop, practise and evaluate their strategies for working developmentally in constructive partnership with students, colleagues, parents and other professionals as part of their professional role
5. Use research and literature critically in linking practice and theory and in supporting enquiry within their class and school contexts
