Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Be competent in the preventive management and operative management of dental caries, having an awareness of both conventional and alternative techniques, and demonstrate this in a case report.
- Discuss and challenge the efficacy of restorative management of dental caries in the light of current scientific evidence and be able to discuss public dental health reports and data for dental caries using the tutor-led discussion board.
- Apply the principles of self-evaluation in clinical procedures and be able to critically reflect on the quality of their own clinical work and record this reflection in a case report and in ePortfolio entries.
- Discuss the properties of the dental materials used to directly restore teeth and those used for preventive interventions and make a judgement on selecting one material over another using the tutor-led discussion board.
