SummaryThe course aims to get the students thinking and discussing issues pertaining to management drawing on what they already know (and this expands as the semester proceeds).

The course objective is to give students the confidence and experience of debating issues on the managerial agenda without necessarily having the assurance that all the facts and possible knowledge available are within their command.

The courses aims and objectives complement those of the range of courses available through the MSc Management.

There is no overlap because the course objectives pertain to an integration of knowledge, theorising and argument.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. At the end of the course students should feel more capable of making succinct points and constructively countering the observations and arguments of others when discussing managerial topics.
  2. They will, additionally, have garnered some useful knowledge regarding current thinking among some of the world¿s foremost management thinkers and business leaders.
  3. Students will also end the course with an expanded knowledge of the major companies operating in a wide range of countries ¿ in part from those discussed in the Stanford Executive Briefings but also in no small part from those mentioned by class members in the course of their discussion and debate.
