Formal summative written assessment will constitute 60% of the student's grade. Online assessment will incorporate a variety of activities will constitute 40% of their overall course grade and is taken to represent a formative assessment of learning throughout the programme.
Assessment will be based on various online activities including written submissions (web forms), discussion fora and reflective review. Extensive use of selective release (requiring the student to complete one task before being permitted to proceed to the next) technologies will be made to facilitate interactive and dynamic online assignments.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the predominant immune defect and infection risk in each of the principal groups of immunocompromised patients.
- Describe and evaluate presentation and diagnosis of infection in the different groups of immunocompromised patients, including potential complications of treatment.
- Demonstrate understanding of the principles of clinical management of infection in the different groups of immunocompromised patient, including potential complications of treatment.
- Develop and demonstrate knowledge of specific therapies in non-HIV immune-compromised patients.
- Develop awareness of particular mental health issues for immune-compromised patients.
