Summary	This course is intended for students on the MSc in Japanese programme who hold an undergraduate degree in Japanese or have previous experience of studying Japanese to advanced level and who wish to focus on developing their Japanese language skills, particularly in reading and writing, for research purposes.
Course description	The course will be delivered through fortnightly seminars. In the first part of the semester, academic teaching staff will lead seminars explaining how they approach the main issues in dealing with texts and other Japanese data in their areas of research. In the second part of the semester, seminars will be student led, and will normally focus on Japanese sources being used for initial dissertation research. 1. General course guidance Week 1 2.
