SummaryYou will explore a variety of research methods, methodologies and theories of knowledge, along with the possible aims and outcomes different approaches may lead to.
Course description You are encouraged to map your own research narrative in relation to the production, distribution and consumption of your work. A key objective here is to promote innovative, experimental and ambitious research that relates to academic study and creative practice at the forefront of your field.

Formally, we'd like you to present your paper in an imaginative form that fully explores and utilizes the possibilities of digital software and distribution platforms and/ or lo fi printing. . This should be a form (self published book, zine, website, blog) that you can reuse for publicizing your own work at a later date.
Feedback Formative feedback on group presentations of critical analysis and research into chosen themes.
Formative feedback on essay plan and evidence of independent research.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Present evidence of your research in group seminars for the purposes of generating critical discussion around themes in contemporary art practice.
  2. Display imagination, originality and initiative in the written, spoken and visual articulation of your research.
  3. Research and write a Critical Study of two or more of the methodologies that motivate your research.
