SummaryA 15,000 word dissertation on a topic relating to the programme, chosen in conjunction with the dissertation.
Course description Subject to availability, and the appropriateness of the topic, students are free to choose any member of staff in the subject area of architectural history. Dissertation supervision follows the rules set out in the University's Code of Practice for Taught Postgraduate Programmes.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. complete an extended piece of original research in the history and theory of architecture.
  2. learn to use research resources effectively.
  3. learn how to devise and articulate a coherent research methodology.
  4. consolidate skills in academic writing, from the construction of an argument to the proper observance of the convensions of scholarly writing.
