Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course the students should have a basic
understanding of:
¿ The principles underpinning energy conversion from wind, wave and tidal energy,
¿ A systematic approach to the taxonomy of energy converters, and
¿ The issues relating to the consenting, deployment and operation of offshore renewable energy technologies
¿ The roll for offshore renewable energies in meeting the UKs targets of carbon reduction in energy generation. In addition the students will understand the structure of the EngD programme, have demonstrated basic literature searching and review techniques, and understand the roll of statistical methods in testing hypothesis and summarising data.
