Summary | During the course students will receive teaching about the anatomy of the head and neck and the physiology of the ear, nose and throat. Clinical teaching will mainly take place in the outpatients, but students will also have the opportunity to see ENT operations being performed. Self directed learning would be facilitated by a specially prepared computer assisted learning package (ENTer). |

To understand the pathology and clinical presentation of common conditions affecting the upper aero-digestive tract
To understand which symptoms and signs signify potentially serious disease
To understand the management of upper airway obstruction
To appreciate the handicap, educational and social consequences of hearing loss at different ages and the rehabilitation of patients with hearing loss
