Learning Outcomes
It is intended that students should be able to conduct a diagnostic psychiatric interview, perform a competent mental state examination as part of this interview, describe their own emotional responses to patients and patients' corresponding emotional responses to clinicians, and show how these can influence the presentation and management of illness. During the course of the Year 4 attachment students are encouraged to relate their clinical experience to the background material provided in lecture courses, seminars and other teaching.
