Summary | THIS IS A FOR-CREDIT COURSE OFFERED BY THE OFFICE OF LIFELONG LEARNING (OLL); ONLY STUDENTS REGISTERED WITH OLL SHOULD BE ENROLLED.
From earliest times and in societies and cultures spread throughout the Old and New Worlds, the human figure has been modelled from clay. In this course, you will be encouraged to explore the technical and expressive potential of this ancient medium in a contemporary context. Working directly from the life model, you will make a series of modelled heads, torsos and figures. You will be required to keep a sketchbook and journal documenting your progress and relating your work to artists who have used the figure as a sculptural form. |
