This course enables students to develop their own personal and expressive language negotiating the creative territory between representation and abstraction. Through discussion with the tutor, students will research and develop their own observed ¿starting points¿, to reveal and sustain an expressive, abstract use of their own images, underpinned by an understanding of composition and structure. |

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, through attending classes and engaging in directed and independent study, students should be able to:
RESEARCH
develop their own research and technical methodologies which explore composition and structure to develop abstract representation
PRACTICE
use drawing and painting techniques imaginatively from a range of their own sourced information
PRESENT
develop and present a coherent series of related artworks which consider the potential of expression and abstraction.
