Summary	Informed by contemporary professional, academic and research literature, this course will help students develop a detailed understanding of the role preschool and primary school physical education plays as the foundation for engagement in lifelong and lifewide physical activity. It will also explore how preschool and primary school physical education contributes to children=s broader learning in education. The course will contextualise current physical education thinking within an ecological framework and will focus on developing students= knowledge and understanding of the preschool and primary school physical education curriculum aligned with developmentally appropriate pedagogy skills and practice.

Apply contemporary theories of child development, learning and teaching in physical education through the planning, delivery and evaluation of developmentally appropriate preschool and primary physical education learning experiences, including play.
