Summary | This is a one week residential field course based in the Tramuntana mountains of Mallorca. The learning objective is to broaden the experience of students by introducing them to a completely new range of habitat types in the Mediterranean region which will contrast and complement their previous field studies in Scotland. The location of the field course allows for studies of the flora and fauna of limestone mountain systems, evergreen oak forests, garrigue and maquis, and coastal wetlands and sand dunes. It also affords the opportunity to visit important European Union conservation sites and projects supported by the very active local conservation group in Mallorca. |
