Summary | Town Hall meetings are held regularly, and they are in place to provide students and Programme Directors a forum for open discussion about current issues on-Programme. |
Course description |
Students will generally drive the content of these meetings, and will propose Programme level topics and issues to discuss, with other staff or guest speakers invited to cover content on occasion.
In semester 1 and 2, Town Hall meetings in week 4 will be essential for all students to attend. In these meetings, the Programme and Class Representatives lead discussions and gather feedback on the programme as a whole, and for each individual course. This allows a fair hearing of minority and majority opinions. It's useful that students hear each other's viewpoints and can openly discuss these as a group. Furthermore, it is important that academics are not present in the room so students are more comfortable sharing their views in a student only forum. This information shared at these meetings is summarised by Programme and Class reps, and shared with academic and management staff at the SSLC/Programme meeting.
