Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- It is intended that students completing this course would be made aware of the various stages required for the preparation of a project proposal, including the incorporation of downstream elements of project cycle management including programme management; monitoring and evaluation (including setting baselines)and impact assessment.
- The 20 credit assessed component of this course would aim to promote an understanding of how large and small scale projects for control of infectious/non communicable disease should be designed and implemented at field level.
- After completion of the 20 credit component the student would be mentored through the various stages of preparing a project proposal which would constitute the remaining 40 credit weighting of this course. This would include:
- Identification of appropriate funding streams and understanding their financial regulations e.g. procurement of goods and services, auditing; Preparation of a concept note; Completion of a funding application
- Interpreting and acting upon reviewer feedback; Preparation of a cover letter; Negotiation of contract and financial payment schedules
